Heidi’s publications include the literary memoir Grace Notes, the quartet poetry collection Edge by Edge, her dissertation-based book Hanns Eisler’s Art Songs: Arguing with Beauty, the monographs Music and the Environment in Dystopian Narrative: Sounding the Disaster and Climate Thanatology, and the recent book Piano Decompositions: The Ecology of Destroyed and Decaying Instruments, co-authored by Beate Schirrmacher. Heidi has also authored numerous articles and book chapters on music in political and environmental contexts, in addition to essays on contemporary art. She is working on a new book project with the working title Vertigo/Impro, on embodied responses to a world in polycrisis.
